So today my daughter and I are traveling to my hometown (The "D" for those who don't know Detroit).
This trip is bitter sweet for me. The great thing is everyone will get to see my daughter. Getting back to the subject at hand; I made the economical decision to save money and have the family take Spirit Airlines. Bad move on my part (SMH), yes there was a huge savings on plane tickets, but was it really worth it? They charge for every little thing, customer service over the phone is horrible, luggage fees are ridiculous (luckily we shipped our luggage (cheaper).
They charge you, should you choose to get a your boarding pass at the ticket counter, you pay a higher luggage fee if you pay at the airport. Word to the wise: if you do not read the fine print and prepare; you could end up spending more than you would have paid for that expensive flight you tried to avoid.
Yesterday I tried to check-in online and their site is down, due to a power outage, and they have a message to periodically check twitter, so you will know when it is back up. The moral of this story, as my husband Ray says "You get what you pay for!"
Smooches
I honestly only use them because I have family that works for them. Customer service is extremely horrible. And they charge you to talk to them. Their website rarely works, so you have to call CS. No one in CS their likes the job. You can hear it in their tone. And get so upset if you ask questions. WTH!?!?
ReplyDeleteOh lets not forget delays delays delays.
I give Spirit an overall score of D-. If my family didn't work there, it would be a big F
